So it’s been a while!

Well a lot has changed since I last posted! Biggest change is that I’m now almost 17 weeks preggy!! We are so excited and can’t wait to find out the gender soon!!!

Pic above from when I told the hubby 🙂 also had sweaters that said “Big sis” and “Big bro” for the dogs-

Was so excited to announce! Out Facebook one had the message over this photo –

So that’s pretty big and also other big occurrences include

1. Quitting my oil/gas job in August and loving it!

2. Looking at houses but then deciding to wait a little-in no rush to have to pack all our (mainly my) stuuuuff..

3. Buying a liquidated art gallery and “attempting” to sell all the pieces at some point in my life before old age gets me 🙂

4. Going on tons of fun trips last year (including Vermont, Japan, New Mexico, Arizona, NYC and more) and more this year! Just got back from Portugal and Spain and will post about that because it was so beautiful-

5. Oh and turning 30!! My amazing husband threw me the most wonderful party- I felt so loved and blessed by him and my friends/family- it was awesome

Pic of baby (had to get an ultrasound because my sisters hair straightener electrocuted me in Portugal..and then after the ultrasound they told me I had the flu so yay..)

Such a cutie!

Miami, Vegas, ACL, Wedding, 29th BDay, NYC (Fall 2014)

So these past weekends have been pretty eventful, amazing and exhausting! We went to Austin City Limits with my sisters/husbands and dear friends, traveled to Austin again to be in a beautiful wedding, went to New York City to celebrate one of Moky’s friends birthdays/he also beat cancer this year!!, squeezed in a trip to Vegas, I went on a bachelorette trip to Miami and also celebrated turning 29! Phew just typing that all out made me realize that we accomplished/attempted quite a bit this September/October- Fun times abounded- loved all of the good times and (hazy) memories 🙂

Summertime Weddings

So haven’t been blogging as much as I wanted to.. boo. Will try to get back on the blog wagon one post at a time!

Had some beautiful and unique weddings that we’ve been to so far and plenty more to go!

This wedding chapel had the coolest architectural ceiling- I loved it!

The next wedding was more rustic and woodsy (also my style) wish I could plan another wedding…

The trees made the background so beautiful like we were in the woods

Haha loved the cake topper!

Hello! and a Wedding Video

Soooo…. haven’t posted in a while… not because nothings been happening but because I’ve been LAZY- also I wasn’t finishing up that many house projects (my house was a MESS) and felt bad about it 😦

Anyhoo I wanted to share some things- also since this is pretty much my diary I need to keep up with it!

Got my wedding video back!!!! I absolutely love it- it’s awesome to see the little things like watching the hubby getting ready before the ceremony, our pastor patting him on the back when he’s (manly) crying as I walk down the aisle with my papa, catching us kissing in the middle of the dance floor, hearing all the cheers as our vintage ride left- it’s just so wonderful to be able to relive it!

I love it so much and copper penny films did a great job!

We had a lovely time and Chicago is definitely on my list of cities I could possibly live in besides Dallas- but I haven’t been there in the winter so who knows if I could survive 🙂

Wedding Recap-My Bridals

So I already posted about where I got my wedding dresses and accessories here but I never really did a full post about my awesome bridals that I won in a charity auction!

Chelsea from Southern Fried Paper threw an event for a friend of hers with a small child who had medical needs-

She had vendors that she knew in the wedding business offer up items that we could bid on in a silent auction- I just happened to be the winning bidder for a lovely package by

photographers Ben Q Photography

Styling and Design by Birds of a Feather

Hair and Makeup by Kendra Gregory

Wedding Cake by Sugar Bee Sweets

Floral Design by Bows and Arrows

They all did such a great job and I was even featured in a Style Me Pretty post! And I got Photo of the Week from Brides of North Texas magazine!

So I have to say that these vendors were AWESOME to work with and did such a good job and I felt kind of like a model which was super fun!

This was my J. Mendel dress that I bought on Ebay for $200 and had altered (moving the piece from the front to off the shoulder)

And this was my Atelier Aimee dress that I bought on and altered the neckline a bit by adding more chiffon (for more “coverage”)

They did such an incredible job styling! Antique furniture, birdcage, crab apples (already provided by the trees!) and beautiful floating book art~

Loved the bouquet- it had so many soft and amazing smelling flowers/herbs in it!

The anemones were so pretty

The cake was cool too! Loved the birch look around the bottom and the feathers

The location was 3825 S. Bowen -I was the first photo shoot at this location and it was perfect!

I had told the stylists that I was looking for kind of a Hunger games/medieval/victorian look

so how they actually came up with this awesome look is beyond me since my directions were totally weird/crazy!

This dress was so comfortable it was practically like wearing pajamas 🙂

My veil came for free with my Atelier Aimee dress and I definitely loved wearing it- It’s so fun being a bride! Now I just get to relive the moment through blog posts 🙂

Cute porch swing- I want one of these some day!

Haha one of my hunger game poses 🙂

These shoes were pretty tall and pretty uncomfortable- I would say one tip for your wedding day…wear comfortable shoes at the ceremony

Wedding Recap-Reception Details 1

So in honor of my 8th month (close to it) anniversary I wanted to do a post on my wedding reception details 🙂

It was an AMAZING time and I wish I could relive it over and over again- it was that awesome 🙂

Here are some of the details about the signage

(all photos of my wedding by Apryl Ann photography)

I bought japanese paper at this site The Paper Studio

they have the CUTEST stuff and alot of it I got on sale

Love all the birds!

I cut out the paper into circles (using a paper cutter that my mom got to cut out circles) and then glued cut out letters onto them

I strung them using twine and punching out little holes at the top (using this Fiskers Mini Hole Punch which was super convenient)

The paper flowers garland I purchased from this etsy seller along with the LOVE sign

We used the sign for the wedding cake table

la duni cake

I even had little signs made for the bathrooms!

These Command Mini Hooks came in super handy when hanging up the garlands and anything else that needed to be up on the wall

I also used the japanese paper to make bridesmaid dress tags

The other signage I used for the wedding was the thrift store mirrors~

I decided instead of using picture frames I wanted to find a bunch of thrift store mirrors and turn them into signs~

I got really lucky and found some awesome mirrors for pretty cheap and a sweet friend made the signs for me (painted them by hand)!

They even used my monogram that I drew originally-

to make the signs we took the mirror part out and painted on the cardboard backs (behind the mirror)

This one I later turned into this coat rack for our house!

IMG_0730 copy

Lots of signs…

One of my favorite little details was the Mr. and Mrs. sign I made with the japanese paper and braided strips of lace for the handle-

(I got the lace by buying lace tablecloths for super cheap at the thrift store)

Best day ever 🙂

Our Wedding Highlight and Full Video- Copper Penny Films

So excited to share our wedding highlight and feature film above- here is the link to the blog post by our awesome videographer!
Copper Penny Films- Marisa & Moky

here is the link to the post that talks about our Save the Date film we did with her too!

Save the Date film blog post

(excerpted from Copper Penny Filmgs blog) There is no way for me to explain how much I love this couple! They are truly a unique pair, and they compliment each other perfectly.  They are a joy to be around.  We first met Moky and Marisa when we were shooting their save the date film in July.  We had a lot of fun telling their love story, and I feel humbled that we were able to capture their special wedding.

Moky and Marisa’s day was nothing short of magical.  They were married at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX.  The gorgeous church served as a lovely backdrop for their first look in their wedding film.  Family is very important to Moky and Marisa, and they were active participants in the wedding day.  Marisa’s sisters served as bridesmaids, and her brother gave a reading.  Her youngest two sisters sang a lovely duet during the ceremony.

The reception was at the Dallas Arboretum.  The Chihuly glass display perfectly complimented the distant Dallas skyline and White Rock Lake.  Marisa created the branding for her event, and used it throughout.  You can see her drawing the logo in the Save the Date film(see below.) In their wedding film, you can see one of my of my favorite uses of their wedding branding on the succulent party favors!

Thank you Moky and Marisa for letting us be a part of your day.  We enjoyed every minute!  We wish you a wonderful life together.

We were also featured on Style Me Pretty Southwest Blog!!!

Wedding Recap- DIY Wedding Aisle Decorations/Pew Cones

Ok so I realize that there are a million wedding posts but I want to remember all the details 🙂

My mom and I wanted aisle decorations for the saved seating area in the sanctuary and my mom had already made these cute crochet roses for my sisters wedding~

So we made these beauties!

IMG_0632 copy

got the idea from these pinterest ones

And here’s how we did it

DIY Tutorial- Wedding Aisle Decorations/Pew Cones

Here’s what you need

1.  Sheet music from a music book (preferably vintage) and not anything you are wanting to learn to play!

2.  Poster-board type paper (stiffer than copy paper)

3.  Crochet roses or any kind of faux flowers

4.  Any type of filler (faux flower filler or beaded filler)

5.  Pew Hangers (found here or here)

6.  Craft Wire (at Michaels)

7.  Hot Glue Gun

We took the posterboard and formed it into a cone then taped the sheet music over it- next we glued the cone onto the pew hangers

IMG_0643 copy

The craft wire we used to keep everything together and to keep the crochet flowers and beaded filler in the cone/pew hanger

We formed the flowers and filler to look like a bouquet and put it in the cone!

IMG_0637 copy

You can also use a ribbon to tie around the cone (I think mine fell off in this photo but it was a gray velvet ribbon)

And you’ve got awesome aisle decorations!

I can’t tell you how to make the crochet flowers because I didn’t make them *thanks mom! but here’s a link to tutorials
